Dear friends,

Over the past twenty four years our purpose has been to facilitate and assist the process of social change for the betterment of people, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized poor populations in Honduras.

This continues to be our purpose, of empowering families to reduce their poverty and build just, peaceful and productive communities founded on Christian values.

But what we have learned is that there is no reason why social change cannot begin here and now in the lives of the people and their communities.

The poor in the mountains of Honduras and in the urban slums of Tegucigalpa do not need to wait for someone to come from the outside for change to begin. They can begin their own change. We are an organization that works to help each person develop their capacity to help themselves by providing “a jump start” that draws on their aspirations, their abilities and their commitments. The cycle of poverty needs to be broken by providing opportunities for individuals and families to develop and achieve livelihoods that are sustainable, economically and socially.
