4,050 Beneficiaries to Date (2003-2008)
The limited access to education in remote villages inspired Proyecto Aldea Global, along with rural communities to begin an effort to improve local education. This program focuses on:
-
Improving the quality of education in the PROHECO (Honduran Community School Project) schools located in northern Comayagua.

Improving teaching techniques and skill by providing updated training to teachers in various training workshops.

Increasing parent’s involvement with their children’s education.
-
The program has built 73 one room schools between 2003 and 2008.
2008 Achievements
-
PAG trained 121 government teachers with improved their teaching skills;
-
PAG trained 355 women and men in PTA associations in 35 different communities.
-
Vocational training provided to 62 girls and boys.
-
The PAG school building program constructed its 73rd school building;
-
576 targeted students were trained to improve their studying skills;
-
219 students were trained in topics regarding a culture of peace, work and family rights.
-
10 model schools in the target area were provided with school books, school supplies – maps and library books, etc.
