Geography
80 communities in the municipality of Las Lajas, Comayagua.

Target Groups
Coffee farmers and their families, living in poverty in the isolated region of Las Lajas, northern Comayagua.

Number of Beneficiaries
4,200 persons: Direct beneficiaries= 200 families (1,200 pers.) + Indirect= 3,000 persons.
Gender Rate: 50W / 50M.

Main Objective
To reduce poverty and improve the quality of life of 200 poor and indigenous Lenca Indian hillside farm families who live in the north central region of the department of Comayagua which was devastated by Hurricane Mitch, battered by Hurricane Michelle and now being hard hit by El Niño.

Result 1: To train and build capacity among 200 local farmers in order to achieve food security.

Result 2: Establishment of 100 model Improve Traditional Farms (PAG Strategy)

Result 3: Community Solidarity program to exchange & duplicate knowledge.

Result 4: Food Security is achieved and a collective marketing process begins.
