YOUTH WITH A VISION
Prevention and education program for youth living in Santa Cruz de Yojoa, San Isidro and 11 communities.

Geography
Municipality of Santa Cruz de Yojoa, Cortés + 11 small communities surrounding San Isidro.

Target Groups
Children and Youth between ages of 10 and 18 years of age. Most of them in school, but others working in limestone factories, maquilas, coffee and sugar cane plantations.

Number of Beneficiaries
450 in total. School and non school students, school teachers and church leaders. Gender: 50W / 50M. Indirect Beneficiaries = 3,000

Main Objective
Reduce the “vulnerability” of the youth to HIV infection in San Isidro, Santa Cruz de Yojoa and 10 surrounding communities.

Result 1: School students (ages between 10 to 18 yrs) have been educated on transmission and prevention of HIV.

Result 2: Acceptance, not rejection of those infected and affected by the HIV virus in the target area has been improved.

Result 3: Non-scholar population that migrate to work in factories or harvests have been educated on dangers and prevention of STDs & HIV/AIDS.
