PAG’s Pastoral & Youth Scholarship Program was started in 1991 with one scholarship beneficiary student, Cristy Gonzales, who longed to study to have a better future for herself and her family. She aspired to become a secretary, but coming from a low-income family, it was nearly impossible for her parents to have enough money to pay for her schooling. To resolve this need, Proyecto Aldea Global (PAG) supported her with a scholarship which eventually paved her way to become a secretary, find employment, and improve her overall life.
For 30 years now, PAG through its Pastoral & Youth Scholarship Program has benefitted over 4,441 students from primary and high school; at-risk children and youth who live in the urban slums of Flor del Campo and its surrounding neighborhoods in the capital city of Tegucigalpa. In 2005, PAG expanded its scholarships to include university students, supporting more than 16 youths in achieving their dream job after graduating from the university. In addition, through its Children's Bible School activities, over 59,400 children have heard and received the good news of the Gospel. Through different activities, beneficiary students and their families learn basic Christian values and are instilled with a sense of belonging and empowerment so that they become leaders in their communities.
We thank each donor for partnering with us these past 30 years to empowering at-risk children and youth through access to education and training in Christian values.
